Giving Thanks, and Receiving It – The EFT Way

Over the past two weeks, I have been inundated with kindness and generosity from friends and clients. Or at least I have been open to receiving their kindness and generosity. I hang out with some pretty awesome people, and have some pretty fabulous clients, so I imagine they’ve always been this way!

I am the one who has shifted: I have opened up to receiving. In other words, I felt worthy of receiving.

I became an EFT Practitioner in 2005 and since then I have given myself to my clients and to my work. I never stopped to allow others to give to me. I don’t think I knew how to do that. Perhaps there was a part of me that believed I was the one who must give, and “they” were the recipients.

In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, and people will be thanking loved ones, friends, and family for so many things, but I wonder how many people will be in the vibration of receiving the gratitude.

How many of us will be present in that moment of thanksgiving, so we can allow ourselves to receive, instead of quickly acknowledging the gratitude and then rushing off to do the next thing in our busy lives?

Opening up to receiving has been quite remarkable for me! I am really playing with this concept, and enjoying the journey. If receiving is something you find challenging, or if you feel like you must be/has to be the one who gives, you may find my tapping script useful.

Karate chop:
Even though I don’t know how to receive, I accept myself deeply and completely
Even though it’s hard for me to receive, I accept all of me
Even though it’s not right to receive, I accept who I am and how I’m feeling
Even though there’s a part of me resistant to receiving, there’s a wiser and more powerful part of me which deserves to receive and I’m allowing that part of me to prevail!
Tapping Points
Head: I don’t know how to receive
Eyebrow: it’s hard for me to receive
Side of eye: I shouldn’t receive
Under eye: it’s not right to receive
Under nose: it’s not wrong to receive
Chin: maybe it’s ok to receive
Collarbone: maybe it’s a blessing to receive
Under arm: maybe I’d love to receive!
Liver: I’m allowing myself to feel safe enough to receive
Wrists: I’m finding it surprisingly easy to receive

Notice how you feel after this global tapping round, note down your thoughts, feelings and body responses, and tap the next round specifically on the things that have just come up for you.
